nostalgia memoir

‘nostalgia memoir’ visually interprets and explores the memories and emotions evoked by sensory experiences. The project is grounded in the ‘Proust phenomenon’, where sensory elements such as music (auditory), scent (olfactory), and taste (gustatory) trigger specific memories and emotions.

It is structured in three parts: a private section based on the author’s personal experiences, a collective section designed to resonate with the viewer, and a notion section that defines and contextualises these experiences. Together, they follow the cyclical flow of sensation, memory, and emotion.

The book is designed in a reversible format, allowing the viewer to start from either side. This structure removes the distinction between front and back, reflecting the idea of shared empathy and the fluid nature of individual experience.

Silent Matter

‘Silent Matter’ begins with a critical inquiry into the visual language of documentation—such as receipts, labels, and production codes. The everyday objects we consume are covered in numbers, codes, and technical phrases, yet these are often encrypted to the point that consumers do not truly understand them. Instead, this information is accepted at face value as ‘trustworthy’ without question.

The project reinterprets this system of documented language through visual design, using it as a framework to embed and convey social messages within the very structures that consumers typically overlook.

It operates by subtly revealing—or concealing—these messages within everyday informational formats, encouraging reflection on the systems we participate in without much thought.

‘;!?’ is a publication project that visually represents my experiences and observations of the times we are currently living in, from my perspective. The title, ‘;?!’, is a punctuation mark that symbolises each of the three themes—Nepo Baby, Geek Chic and Dopamine Addiction—in this publication, reflecting my perspective through the concepts of connection (;), curiosity (?), and realisation (!).
