Patterns Unseen: On Luck and Serendipity

For the ‘Deep Dive’ Major Project brief, where we were asked to create an in-depth publication on a specific topic—I chose ‘serendipity’.

I designed a book exploring multiple different angles on serendipity: looking at accidental discoveries, meet-cutes, lucky photos, and how to cultivate and understand serendipity.
Printed on GF Smith paper using a combination of printing methods: laser, digital, risograph.

Cartes de Visite: A Kit for More Meaningful Travel

I looked at how travel planning and recommendations have changed over time in response to the ‘Signal’ brief, and created a kit to help people travel more intentionally containing a card deck, journal and camera.

With the rise of AI journey planning and more and more people travelling based on online recommendations, wholesome interaction with locals and places has become less common. The card deck aims to bridge this gap through three steps: Connection (questions to ask strangers, conversation starters), Discovery (activities and camera prompts), and Reflection (journal prompts to complete on the journey home). The kit can be taken abroad or just on a day out in your city, to slow down and gain fresh perspectives on travel.

Mille Bonheurs: Conceptual Branding Project

Conceptual branding for Mille Bonheurs (or Mirubon), a French patisserie based in Tokyo, inspired by my recent trip to Japan

The monogram logo marries different aspects of French and Japanese culture, traditional and modern, using Art Nouveau whiplash lines—one of the main inspirations for the Art Nouveau movement was the import of Japanese woodblock prints in the 1870s. The menu is inspired by the rich café culture in Tokyo, with ideas for drinks drawn from Woodberry Shibuya.
